Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches is a gorgeous resort with the most amazing pools. It’s a resort that in general works on half board basis. It’s a amazing place to enjoy the most beautiful beach and relax by one of the amazing pools. They even have a bed in the Pool which we had to use ofcourse. We enjoyed it so much!
The review below is our independent opinion. We assess various components with a system of a maximum of 10 points. The total score is assessed in a maximum 5 star rating. In general we only post reviews when we can give at least a 3 star rating. If it is lower, we will not place a hotel anyway. We think that is a waste of time. The price per night that we use is always of the high season because we never travel during the rainy seasons and most people are tied to holiday periods anyway.

About the location 8/10
Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches is located in the north of the Island Mauritius. It’s a big resort and everything you need is available on the resort. There is no big need to go outside the hotel. That’s the main thing about Mauritius to really discover the island you should rent a car. But the location of the resort is beautiful with a private beach right in front of the hotel. The gardens are also stunning!
The Welcome 8/10
The welcome at Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches was nice but nothing really special. Because it’s a big hotel you enter through a stunning lobby and there were a lot of receptionists waiting to check us in. We got a nice welcome drink and every thing went smooth before we knew it we were on our way to our room. So the welcome and checkin was smooth and fast.
Design and style 8/10
By far the most amazing thing at the resort is the big main pool located in between the lobby and the beach. It’s in one word breathtaking. The designers really made something special and we can say that it’s one of our favourite pools ever. Apart from the pool everything is wel designed with eye for detail. Some places could be more romantic and cosy but overall it’s very well done.
The Suite 9/10
We have visited the following room.
Beachfront Suite with Pool 8/10
The hotel has a variety of rooms to offer. From simple suites to 2 bedroom villas. We were staying in the Beachfront Suite with Pool. As the name already reveals the suite is located on the beach with view on the amazing ocean. This is perfect and the location couldn’t be better. De rooms has everything you need and was big. The furniture in the suite is nice but we really missed a bit of style within the room.
There was something missing I think with a few more accessories it could already make a big difference. The bed was very comfy and we slept like roses during our stay.
The bathroom was nice and there was plenty of room to put our luggage.
Wifi & Electrical outlets: 8/10
The WIFI was working good at the most times but not superfast. There are enough sockets in the room to charge all your stuff.
Swimming pools: 10/10
We already talked about the amazing mainpool from Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches apart from the main pool every block of suites has its own pool which are in between palms and grass and look amazing from the sky. There was always a pool available without people around because in total there are a whopping 8 pools in the resort. We had nothing to complain because we also had a little private pool on our terras. We can only give a fair 10 for the pools!!
Fitness & Wellness: 8/10
The Wellness at Trou Aux Biches was stunning with again beautiful pools. There is a gym but we didn’t use it which is a returning theme for us ;).
Restaurant options & Breakfast 9/10
The breakfast is a huge buffet. There are tons of options and I’m sure everybody is well served with their options.
The hotel has different restaurants with different cuisines to offer. We tried the Italian, the Indian, Thai and their buffet restaurant. We had a lovely dinner in every restaurant and the staff was super friendly and well trained. We liked the concept of half board meals but still have the opportunity to enjoy a la carte dinner instead of just a buffet.
The Italian restaurant for us was the winner. It even has a stunning gazebo where you can enjoy a romantic dinner. That was absolutely the best food we’ve had during our Mauritius trip.
Housekeeping & Staff 9/10
The housekeeping is good the room was well cleaned. The staff was superfriendly and made us feel welcome all the time.
Everything is very well maintained.
Mauritius is a very expensive destination and most people will go there for a honeymoon. Thankfully most room rates come with breakfast and dinner. The price is fair for the service and facilities the hotel offers and of course comparing it to the other resorts on the island. The only thing that was pretty pricey were the drinks which were not included in the halfboard. The prices are really high so for people who like to drink some wine or beer you are probably better of to go to an all inclusive resort. Apart from that the prices are fair.
